Public Safety Experience and Leadership
Major Williams has worked to make Indiana safer for Hoosier families for 34 years. Major Williams is currently serving as the Assistant Chief of Staff of Logistics under Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter. His current responsibilities include:
• Managing more than $300 million in assets for the department.
• Overseeing 13 Indiana State Police posts and facilities, including General Headquarters, four regional laboratories, aviation hangars, and microwave towers.
• Oversight of a fleet of more than 1,800 vehicles.
• Leading the construction of three new laboratories and posts, each valued at more than $30 million, in Lowell, Ft. Wayne, and Evansville.
Business Leadership
In his off-duty time, Jerry Williams, is a licensed real estate managing owner of Williams Executive Realty & Associates, LLC. He is also involved in an initiative focused on supporting the lifecycle of African American males in Northwest Indiana known as the Brother’s Keeper of Lake County Indiana.
Education & Certifications
- Attended Indiana University Northwest.
- Graduate of the FBI National Academy, 253rd Session, in Quantico, Virginia.
- Major Williams is a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) National and Indiana Chapters, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), the Gary and Indiana NAACP Branch.
- Attended numerous other training schools and courses, most recently, graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Police Chief Training Program in April of 2023.
